past! Now it's time to see the tables turned and have someone ask her
the questions instead! Lets now take a peak into Sandra's life and see
just what makes her tick!
Q/A:
What is your background?
I was born and raised in beautiful, hot Orlando, Florida. I always enjoyed
writing and decided to major in Radio/Television. I wrote and read the news
for WUCF 89.9, the college radio station at the University of Central
Florida. I also had my own music news showcase once a week at the station,
where I interviewed alternative bands.
I graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1992 with a BA in
Radio/Television. After college, I worked for WCPX Channel 6 (a CBS
affiliate) as a Medical Producer for three years, where I had written the
medical news segment and specials for all three news casts.
What are your vital statistics?
I am 31 years old and have been
married for 5 1/2 years now to my husband Dan. I also own a black,
mod, posh kitty named Sabrina!
What bands or celebrities have you interviewed?
When I worked at WUCF 89.9, I interviewed Tim Butler of the Psychedelic
Furs, Cramps, Nitzer Ebb, and They Might Be Giants. I also had the
opportunity when I worked at WCPX Channel 6 to interview Dennis Hopper.
That was a big thrill!
What types of music do you enjoy?
I have very diversified tastes in music. I enjoy alternative, lounge, rock,
swing, and rockabilly.
What was your first concert?
I saw KISS in 1979 on the Dynasty tour at the Lakeland Civic Center in
Lakeland, Florida. I was only 9 years old! KISS was my first musical
experience and Peter Criss was my first Rock N' Roll crush!
Who is your favorite band?
My favorite band is Duran Duran of course! I have been a Duran Duran fan
for 18 years. I was very fortunate to see all of the original members
perform on the Seven and the Ragged Tour in 1984. That is still one of my
favorite concerts!
Who is your favorite Duran Duran member?
My favorite Duran Duran member is Nick Rhodes. Nick was hanging all over my
walls when I was teenager! I definitely adore the man! I have been hooked
ever since I saw Duran Duran perform on Saturday Night Live in 1983!
How did you get the opportunity to be the feature reporter for
thebassgod.com?
Rose Tremblay, one of the founders of thebassgod.com, and I have been
friends since 1984. In fact, we met in line buying tickets to the Seven and
Ragged Tiger concert! Rose was aware of my writing background and asked if
I wanted to write for thebassgod.com last September. The rest is history!
What was your reaction about writing for an unofficial John Taylor
web site?
I was very honored to be asked to write for thebassgod.com. I thought it
was an excellent way to support John. I also liked the concept of
interviewing people who are/have been associated with John since he left
Duran Duran. I wanted to help by writing features that would give
recognition to those people who have contributed to John's career.
What are the future plans for thebassgod.com?
I can't reveal any secrets! What I can tell you, is that you will see
exciting things happen at thebassgod.com, including more features in the
"getting intimate" section! Keep your eyes pealed!
